Trying to paint, and redecorate with children is never easy, and when you are doing it by yourself its even more fun. Luckily I had a Nana to help with one kid, while the other one was sleeping. I had the hardest time with the color I choose. Its the lightest I have ever paintined. I took a cue from all the design blogs I enjoy, and tried to go minimal.
This seems like an easy project, but there are actually 3 panels on the closet and two panels on the window. each panel has 7 colors. each color strip is hemmed and ruffled and then sewn onto a main piece. In this case I had a lot of heavy duty twill in a peach tone that I used as the back.
These curtains are based on the smoldering hues shower curtain from Anthropologie:one of my paintings and the stark antique dresser, seems so barren, but really calming…
I think I got pretty close to the Anthro curtain, and I really like the room. I am not done yet. I still have bedding to work on and right now the floor is just painted base boards. we haven’t decided on flooring yet, and it may end up just being a rug for a while.
