I have been struggling with interesting display/storage for my jewelry for as long as I can remember. In the recent months of attempting to get more fashion in my life, I have been accessorizing more. This has led to a need for organizing yet ONE more thing in my world. I have tried many different ways of hanging my necklaces, but none that were all that great, or “pretty” and the earrings I have even more trouble with. I can’t keep them in my bathroom, the silver tarnishes and I have to polish everything right before I wear it! So, what’s my remedy this time??
Go to the antique store.
Look for an old drawer. I didn’t find one. But I did find a spoon display and a little shelf.
For the spoon display I took out a few rows out, then glued prettier fabric on top of the velvet. I may paint it at some point, but I wanted to try this first. The spoon holes don’t work as well as I would like, so I added the juniper twig to hold those that didn’t fit. The little shelf I spray painted with chalkboard paint. I put little hooks in the underside of the shelves and then when dry, decorated a little with chalk.
I like the squirrels.
