I am running out of steam for the 30. I read Kendi’s post about revamping your zeal. So I am going “window shopping” however, I did go shopping. Calm down. I am always looking for interesting bits at the thrift stores. So here is a rundown of what I got. I will not put them in my wardrobe until my 30 days are up.
zebra print corduroy pencil skirt ( I KNOW! Isaac Mizrahi for Target) at half price tag
black suede booties (Metro 7??) at half price tag
Gap trouser jeans
silence and noise velvet and cotton cardi
all from goodwill came in at: $17.50 (!!!!!)
and I couldn’t pass up the sale price on a pair of El Naturalista Wakatua short boots. I love El Naturalista.
I have decided that although I love pretty shoes, especially heels, it only works for me in a boot until summer, and then only if I can run down a toddler.
So I have a cozy selection of wedges, and a fair number of strappy sandals in flat and heeled. I really like these Wakatuas but I really love the 70% off. I can only afford them ( El Naturalista) at certain times of the year.
So I have to justify some shopping in the midst of my 30 for 30…
I got some shoes for Murphy too… His little feet are in between sizes.
I have been looking into Bentos lately. especially cute food for small people that are picky. I don’t mind putting in the extra effort to shape and color rice balls and add a little Nori cutout for faces. If I can get Hawley to eat with more vigor and variety, I will be happy. I am trying to find a good resource for tools though and there is some difficulty. I may have to save it for my next trip to Portland and research an Asian food market, I used to go to a few in Beaverton, but I wasn’t looking for something as specific as crab shaped hot dog slicers…
I got two Goodbyns one for Hawley and one for his friends birthday. Hawley doesn’t know he is getting one yet. He knows that we have one for Colin’s birthday next month. We are going to a movie for Colin’s b-day and I thought I might make a bento lunch for us all…
Here is Day 17, and if I make it through there will be an 18. I am considering calling it at 20, I did do 10 days before all this february nonsense.
I suppose I thought this challenge would spur my creativity first thing in the morning. But I feel tired by it, and the cold. It just really feels like the wrong season for trying to doll up.
case in point, it started snowing pretty good again. It made it look like there were spots on my lens…
or snapping right as the snowflake is on my lip/tooth zone…
The boys were sittin gin the car right in front of me, and they were laughing and I was making faces and jumping up and down for them…
