Because I take two days out of every week’s 30 for 30 for a Yoga/Pilates/day in sweats, I appear to be behind several folks by 4 days or so. That’s fine, it just means that it will take me twice as long to do my 30. If I don’t fail.
I wanna say something about my experience thus far with 30 for 30. It is a silly frivolous thing. It is a SMALL thing to spend a SMALL amount of time on. Explaining it to people is a bit tiring though. Most folks are like me, happy in jeans and a t-shirt. Just to rotate those through. That being said, I am having fun trying to stick to my goal. I am also trying to get back on track. I can see the value in the process.
Last night was the first night in a few weeks that I managed to have the house straightened, kitchen cleaned, laundry folded and put away, and crafting time available by 7:45. So I messed around in my crafting space for 40 minutes or so, and I hope to be able to get something fun together for tomorrow.
The days just seem to fly by and before I know it, another month is down and I didn’t get my own things done. I think the boys have officially started there habit of summertime early rising. I have to force myself to go to bed early, and getting all of my crafty activities done is gone. I do those things when they are sleeping. Someone said to me the other day,”how do you find the time?” Honestly, I don’t always have a clean space. I try to keep up on laundry, and the kitchen and feeding the family well. The floors are cleaned often and the toilets rarely grow things, but the rest sorta slides by until its too much to bear.
When I first started reading blogs and viewing crafty peoples creations, I thought the same things,”how do they have the time with multiple children, houses, activities, gardens, and then to think up a crafty idea and execute it????” and, “why can’t I do that?” But then there was a day when several of the bloggers posted pics of their houses in there current state. Not cleaned up for photos. It was a relief to see that I am not the only one to fall behind for the sake of an artsy idea.
I always say ( and you can ask my husband…) that I am gonna keep it at this level of tidy, and then I don’t. I accept that I would rather get caught up crafting than clear paperwork off of a surface. I think I really beat myself up over those things a lot. Feeling like I was constantly behind the days. Always tired. I am still always tired, but I am accepting that my life is so rich, why would I want to sleep through it???
On to 30 for 30: Day 11:
groceries, snow, library, feed store, dirt… It a full day. The snow making it soooo much easier…
I didn’t have much of a plan for this one. I thought I would introduce a sweater I haven’t worn for this round yet. doubled it with a stripe cardi/wrap thing and you have a very Emma/ Austen look. Its really just the empire waist fitting of the closure. I love Austen though. Thinking I may have to have a Pride and Prejudice viewing day soon.
I am out of contacts too, so I am trading my 2 pair of glasses out. I don’t really mind, I am very attached to the fact that I have a constant accessory and with it being overcast, I don’t need to wear my sunglasses.
I decided to wear my red pants, because its soooo much more exciting.
I also got a better photo of the super coat! It is awesome!
That is what I look like squinting into the sun. Can you believe that sky!!! Its bluer than blue! This is MY FAVORITE outfit taking spot. seriously.
There are zero obstructions ( powerlines, houses etc)in the background. All sky.
I had to insert Keens as a sub for another boot. They are waterproof and warm. The snow and heels and such do not get along in my world. But, I was cozy and worthy of chasing Murphy around the library. Its a good thing the librarians know me. I might have gotten into a scrape.
