meet my new friends
from their winter hotel toooooo
the sunshine ahhhh ( I got really macro on this one! I really enjoyed taking these!)
“are you sure they don’t have stingers? I don’t believe you…”
I couldn’t find the paperwork on how you are supposed to put the bees out, I know that you are supposed to lodge the tubes in where you want them to associate with home. I was going to look up all my info but, when I got the bees from the garage I discovered that they were already on the way out and I didn’t want them out in the house!!
They were so groggy they let me get really close up and touch them! These are Mason Bees otherwise known as orchard bees. I am hoping they enjoy my yard and pollinate while providing a little ambiance to the garden. I am afraid they won’t actually stay here though. They are meant for , well, orchards! I went for them because they are solitary and they make burrows.
So here is the new lodgings… lets hope they enjoy the sun!
