Friday was Hawley’s last day of Kindergarten! They didn’t have a graduation ceremony, but we did get to meet his 1st grade teacher. His teacher from this last year, gave those few of us that volunteered in the classroom a BBQ. She is a wonderful woman and I am so grateful that Hawley had such a great teacher to start his academic career. Not to mention a fast friend of mine! I decided to dress up a little and we had nice weather for it as well.
The skirt is made following these instructions, and from a Heather Ross for Kokka double gauze. The little snail repeating pattern. It was a little slower than a 5min shirt, but not by much. It took longer to iron the fabric than to sew it… My favorite belt is on for effect and I have my orange wedges to really make it all exciting!
I found this patch of Lupine and thought it would look nice against the skirt, and they smelled so lovely the whole time I was doing the pictures! I really wanted to pick a LOT of them.
At the BBQ, there were lots of lizards. The kids, especially Murphy, loved looking for them and having the older boys catch them.
