Project #3 for the Summer of No Pants.
I was inspired by an old dress from Anthropologie,
They don’t have it online anymore, and I didn’t have the image on my computer. Luckily, there was a refashion over at Welcome to the Good Life that had pics!
I alo really like this one from J.Crew:
I had found this light weight jersey at the thrift store. I think it was $3 for about 5 yards! I prefer the racerback style, the straps don’t fall off my shoulders that way. So I sort of morphed the two ideas into a basic tank dress.
I used FOE ( fold over elastic) for the straps and edging. It made it easy, no real hemming except the bottom. It was cold the other day when I wore this in the morning, hence the sweatshirt and leggings… I really liked this when I was making it. I may like it more when the weather is super warm, or for the pool or beach. I didn’t like it as much when I wore it as I thought I would. I have a dress I completed a few weeks ago that I have not worn yet, because I wasn’t sure if I liked it when making it. Now I may just try it for the sake of having done so…
