I have said before that it has not gotten overly warm here… yet. It will soon get above 80* and remind me that it gets hot here in the high desert. For now though, I can still wear a little sweater until noon or so. Here is a late spring sweater with lots of charm. Reminiscent of the 40’s with a little 80’s flare.
|Whisper Something Sweet Cardi from Ruche|
Ruche is a nice shop because they have some great items without the alarming price tag of say, Anthropologie. However, I had two items that went together well. both the same shade of pink, both thrifted with unknown destinations.
First I had this granny lace cardi. in pink. yup. Got it at a bag sale, came in at about $.25 and then a pink cashmere v neck that I had split up the middle front to make into a cardi a while back. I think this also came in low, $5 or less.
I cut up the back panel on both pieces, and sewed them together, wrong sides facing. that was that.
I didn’t do anything special to the seams, neither of these items will fray and the are not spread so tight over my frame that the seams are at risk of popping.
pretty easy really. I felt I needed a little more eighties meets grandma sweetness in my wardrobe… It will go nicely with the few summer strapless dresses I have.
When it gets warm enough to wear them…
