when it gets this cold I try to remember that it could be worse. Its 11* and the sun is brilliant, instead of say only 4 hours of daylight and negative degree temperatures?
I think the lack of daylight would wear on me harder than the temperature… even if its cloudy I like to have day and night on a schedule with me.
So this weekend, I got behind in posting, but not in making, I haven’t lost this challenge! I made a set of hat and gloves for each of the boys. They picked out their color combos from my stash of fleece.
to make the gloves I traced around their hands and fingers, layered the fleece twice and stitched. Then I cut them out. Murphy and Hawley both loose one glove constantly, so this is a stash buster for all my leftover costuming materials and it didn’t take very long.
Murphy was in a power pose. It seems the inappropriate dressing goes to my kids too. In our defense, with the wood stove the house is in the 80* range… shirts are optional.
that’s leftover pb and j on Murphy…he was so excited he wouldn’t let me wash his face. I pick my battles.
The tank came about because I was prepping for making my Washi dress. I remembered that I had the tiny pocket tank pattern and wanted to try it out of Jersey. I made it from voile this last spring, and I like it a lot. This jersey is solid and lace stripes. I tried to line up my stripes and it did pretty good. For the sake of a grocery outing though, I had to layer…. I take photos outside usually and I thought my bare arms all goosebumpily wasn’t gonna work…
