My hubby is a crazy awesome dude.
he has a high stress job, comes home to us and studies for his masters, then serenades our children to sleep with tunes from one of his bamboo flutes. That he taught himself to play in the last year.
not only is he tall dark and handsome, but has that sensitive nerdy quality we all like in the quiet.
The funniest part of this is that I am the flute player from high school band days (no american pie references…)
For christmas this year, he got himself a set of handmade bamboo flutes that needed a method of protection and organization.
So I knew I was gonna make him a roll up. roll ups are relatively simple, its just a method of organizing tools, crayons, what have you so that they aren’t all over the place.
He allowed me to go for it for plastics month and since I do not have ANY manly laminate (this for a flute roll up?) I did some fusing of plastics:
making a design is relatively simple but it was difficult to get enough plastic fused in a design for the yard of fabric I needed for this roll up.
so I did 2 designs, one with a black background and one with whitish in the background.
he likes it, so that’s good. I am not sure how long the seams will holdup. turns out sewing plastic to batting to 2 sided craft fuse is really hard.
now he’s flute playin’ recyclin’ man o mine!
