Do you remember my 365 days project? no? yeah, it sorta fell by the wayside there for a little while. So let’s restart this engine and get on with it! No wallowing in loosing my steam. pretty in pink for laminated projects!
Technically this is made from PUL (polyurethane laminate). PUL is mostly used in cloth diapering products as its water resistant and washable. When my babies were in diapers we cloth diapered mostly. I always wanted to make my own diaper covers thinking it would be cheaper, but at that time, PUL was special order only as well as large hook and loop and fold over elastic.
There were patterns a plenty for free on the internet, but it was easier just to get the my mom to help me buy a few covers and keep them in rotation.
I still had never made one. But, JoAnns has a diaper making section now, with snaps and FOE and large velcro and PUL!! SO I asked a friend that cloth diapers if she would be up for a freebie try out and she said yes. so I made her a pink polka dot diaper cover!
This cover is based on the Ottobre free pattern, but I ommitted the soaker pad, as this is JUST a cover. It was suprisingly easy to make once I did it.
I hope they like it, that its useful and that all goes well with the diapering saga…
the cover and this little outfit from KCW will all be headed out in the mail to some Seattle peeps!
