I have had this one cut out for a while now, and I’ve been a little scared of it. It’s not a complicated pattern, but, I really wanted to get it right the first time. The Simone looks so easy and feminine that I was drawn to it right away. I also prefer a racer back tops as they not only shows off my tattoo, it makes me feel buff. Silly?! But anything that boosts ones self esteem is allowable, in my opinion.
The sizing is spot on on this pattern (for me), but I fuzzed up the cut out somehow because when I put the closure on the neck the armholes of the racer back gaped big time. The pattern comes with an option for a shirt as well. It can be made from wovens with ease and the drape is gorgeous. I felt SOOOOOO feminine and purrrty. Very mama Free People.
I used bias tape that I made instead of doing a folded hem on the skirt, I found that it weighted the double gauze a little and its a different detail on the asymmetrical hem.
