It is 9/11 and on this day in 2001 a tragedy occurred in the US that will remain in our memories for ever. Some of us were there. Some of us (me) were driving to work glued to the radio thinking, holy crap. holy crap. holy crap.
So, I am thinking of you, those that were directly affected and those that have had their lives altered by the events that followed.
I love using the wood pile as a background. So, although my back is a little sore from stacking that cord and then some, I am glad its prepped before we need it. It’s warm enough I can still wear a dress with no leggings or tights right now. Soon it will be 20 at night and it will be very cccold.
Until then, let’s talk about a simple jersey dress.
When I was in Portland a couple of weeks ago, I took an evening and went sewing at Figgy’s studio. I just happened to be in town for her Sip and Sew class, and I jumped on the chance to go and chit chat with other ladies and sew.The beautiful thing about this class is you the choices. You can choose from several projects, all that can be completed in a couple of hours. Have a glass of refreshing beverage and some yummy snacks and social sewing!
When I made this it was a maxi. It’s a very simple design, basically a belted tube with a v neck in front and back. But, I think my jersey was too heavy. It was just too much fabric in the end and hung to much. So I cut it off. I like it this length. I even like it with out the belt. I wore it that way the rest of my day at home. It does feel like a nighty though without the belt.
