My mission was to make all of these patterns for the first parcel. I have 4 done, one left after today.
The Lady Skater is a pattern we should all have. Easy to customize, flattering to wear.I decided that I wanted it in a split, a faux top and skirt.I especially love that I have black and white tights and I call those my Alice in wonderland shoes. Now I have a whole modern Alice outfit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahhhh the peplum. Very much in style, really a classic piece. I have always wanted to wear peplums, but then, I never seem to. Now I will!!
My “v” point on the Ava peplum is a little more rounded than the pattern should execute, but I had a struggle with the voile and meshy lace. They just did not want to turn on a dime, they wanted to navigate it in an arc. But there is no pulling, the darts fit perfect and the zip is easy to install. My feathers go every which way. I had purchased this beautiful voile from Anna Marie Horner at Modern Domestic off Alberta in Portland. I promptly cut it out for something else when I got home. That item was never made… I managed to repurpose those cut pieces in my size (4). Hurray!
PS if you are in ptown, be sure to check out Modern Domestic. A truly great sewing studio and supply shop. Be sure to get food next door at the tin shed. you wont be disappointed! Just walking along Alberta is a fun day in itself.
