This week has been hard here. We decided on Monday that our old dog tabor was ready to say goodbye. In honesty though, we think he had been ready for awhile, we were the ones hanging on. So I called and made THE appointment. He was scheduled for Thursday. On Wednesday morning, I noticed a few things were wrong with our other dog, and so I took her to the vet. When we arrived, the vet decided to get her an xray and blood work. These showed us that she has a massive tumor, and her prognosis is slim. If she makes it through next week we will be surprised.
This post is for our big shaggy lover though. Our beloved Tabor. He lived to a ripe old big dog age of 12.5 years. We have had him by our sides for 11 of those. There is not a moment of our time in this house that does not have Tabor’s memory in it. He was always an amazing dog, loved chickens, tolerated the cats. He sang along if there was a flute being played. Needed a snuggle for a thunderstorm. Our house feels a lot emptier without his presence.
So good bye to our big black and tan. we love you still.
PS. it is possible that there will be another sad dog post soon. I apologize in advance.
