It’s the last day for the Sew Fab pattern Bundle! I decided to make one more pattern from the bundle to show you how awesome it is! Over the weekend I discovered my longest running friend had her baby! It’s her first and she and her family live far away from me. I had also just gotten some very much anticipated Charley Harper Nuture knits in the mail. I have been waiting on these for sooooooooo long. I adore Charley Harper, and had to work with it as soon as possible. So straight out of the dryer to the cutting table.
I knew I was going to make a baby gown. I got to thinking about how the Extraordinary Girl pattern had the classic envelope neck line that the baby gowns do. I thought, that’s it! a coordinating outfit! My friend is close to my size in the arms and torso but, being a new Mama, her bust is way bigger than mine, I’m sure. So I made the medium. It’s very big on me, so I didn’t model it.
The pattern goes together fast, with lots of options to make it your own. You can add a pocket or lace, or whatever you want. For this one though, we had a mama and baby koala. I used a stretchy cotton french terry for the main body of the adult top.
When I had Hawley, this same friend sent me a matchy matchy item, and I remembered that as I was putting this combo together.I tried to find you the pic but its buried in my hard drive…
