Well, How was our holiday? are they done yet? Ours were busy, but not so much so that I was overwhelmed by them. I had to avoid everything else in order to finish a hand knit gift though, and so this last weekend has been catchup! whew.
While I have been away from Blog land, I have been knitting, and sewing, and I thought we should catch up before this year turns over!
I started this while I was waiting for the yarn to arrive for the holiday gift I can’t show you, and I was making more progress than I expected! I tend to avoid fingering weight yarns. All those small stitches on repeat… But, it’s moving along. I will get back to it when I finish the other.
I’ve got a friend that noticed my turban(d) and commented that she liked it. I decided to make her one… in cashmere… in the colorway Seattle Skyline from Pepperberry Knits. Which is convenient because she lives in Seattle!
This is for my sister in law, but I am not sure how she will like the feel of the Angora and alpaca. Its super cozy at first, but if you are sensitive to wools these can be very itchy in the long term.
Murphy and my Mom jumped on the knitting train and learned to finger knit! my mom used all her fingers to make a wide cowl and Murphy made a really long cord and wrapped it 3 times 🙂
The big finish was cramming in another Aidez for my lovely Mother in Law for Christmas. I finished it Christmas day with many late nights and hours on my rump, knitting, knitting, knitttttting.
I’ve been commissioned to make some family knitted stockings from the families heirloom pattern. As the order just came in, these will be for next year. I am excited to try Intarsia again after the bear sweater.
