When I am searching out and reading the many sewing blogs around the internet, I find lots of “new to me” creators. Last winter I found an old tutorial from a designer that has since been turned into a great pattern. The Jasper Sweater/Dress from Paprika Patterns.
I was immediately drawn to the unique cowl like neckline, and the large hood. The pattern has several options for your customization including a dress length! I chose to make the sweater in a bright purple french terry.
The directions are clear, well written and complete. The pattern prints out and lines up perfectly. The sizing is spot on as well. For my own tastes, I slimmed the sleeves and shortened the arms a little.
I’ve never sewn a welt pocket like this and the results are very pleasing. With the side panel details and pocket, The Jasper elevates your standard sweatshirt!
I’ve got more sweatshirts coming this spring, but I really love the Jasper! It is definitely in steady rotation.
