It’s another season of Shorts on the Line!
I wasn’t sure I would be able to get a submission in, as things are getting insane around here. But, I managed to get these linen Prefontaine’s done. They’ve only been on the “to Sew” pile for a year, cut out and waiting for my attention.
We went for a walk to our normal spot to get some pictures of the view for the house listing, It has been gorgeous weather. Warm, but clear blue skies and perfect for the pool and late walks.
For some reason, the original size I had cut out was too big. I don’t know why, but I also don’t remember when I cut these out. Do you ever do that? Getting started on a project only to have it get pushed aside by other more important projects? I had to do some creative resizing during construction. They worked out well though. I also made the bias tape a little thinner, although this was originally unplanned, it highlights the linen.
One of the things I have always liked about this pattern is how quick you can whip it up and then how different and unique you can create each pair. From terry cloth to quilters cotton to knits. My last pair were a linen blend, and I love them.
No, I don’t make my kids wear helmets at canyon edges… Murphy rode his bike all the way to the point he just couldn’t anymore. Parked and walked, leaving his helmet on the whole time 🙂
Are you sewing up some shorts? I have lots of patterns I would like to sew, but really it’s the Hawlster that needs them. That kid is getting taller by the DAY! whew! Leave me a link to your blog or Kollabura post so I can check out your projects!
