Over the years I have gotten better and better at making baby gifts. I have learned a few things about the process of gifting and after having had my babies go through the littles stage and are now into lego and not handmade, I understand the joy in having something absolutely unique.
We don’t know as many people having babies right now as we did at one point. However, we do have one new babe coming into our circle in a few weeks! The parents have chosen to let themselves be elated and surprised, so there isn’t a gender known yet. Although, in this day and age, that is a really fluid concept anyway.
Knowing that most people in this particular circle are probably going to be going towards the cutsie greens and yellows, I wanted to go with black and white, gray and teal! It just so happens that I had the perfect Madre Beads in mind for this gift as well!
I made 2 layette gowns ( original tutorial here). This time though, I used a rib knit to finish the hem and cuffs and made it a little snugger than I have in the past. I also used a very geometric teal and white double gauze for a receiving blanket, similar to what I did here. Icing on the top is the Madre Beads and a little moon teether.
I hope all goes smoothly for our new friends and their new bundle! We are always available to babysit!
