Meet the Cochall Cozy. I’m working on a series of cozy staples and this one made sense. It’s a Raglan sleeve pullover you can customize with a hood, flash dance style, or just a collar… (pshaw, just a collar…)
The thing is, I don’t have it together yet, so this is a Me Made May 16 tie in and probably will be ready for the fall as a pattern.
I made this Hoodie version in Charley Harper knits, but it was just a little too small for me. Luckily I know some beautiful souls that are just a little smaller than me! Also- I tried to give it to my 10 year old son. He agreed it was really cozy, but admitted he wouldn’t wear it because it has clouds on it. Apparently clouds are not manly. Just for that I might make him a pink one.
Knowing that my first one was too small, I had this light, loopy and lovely french terry from Mill End. It had a really unique selvedge fray that I wanted to incorporate. For the main shirt, I kept the loopy side toward my body. I reversed it for the cuffs, and kept that frayed side out. I also reversed it on the waistband.
I wanted to have a really cozy top, something I was cool with throwing on over whatever, or nothing. So, I gave it the Flash Dance off the shoulder look. I cut the collar a little wider and left the edge raw. I did a trace line of stitching to keep it from over stretching.
In other news, I just realized its Kids Clothes week. So I am going to jump on that, both my boys need some new gear and its perfect timing. Just a recap: we’ve got daily Me Made May insta posts. Now there is Kids Clothes week… I think I will keep that on the KCW site and do a post at the end of the week to recap.
