I am not one for long cardigans. I have a Prairie Underground zip up that goes to my knees and it ends up being worn more as a bathrobe (read housecoat- but I dislike that word). While perusing patterns, I would scan right over Esme. Mostly do to the length. I loved the slouchy grandpa sweater feel though. I also really love Named Patterns in general.
I will make another one, just shorten it a smidge. I omitted the buttons on this one because I am not sure I like them. I also HATE doing button holes on anything that doesn’t have some sturdiness to it. While this sweater knit is lovely, its a wiggly guy. I could see the future of snarling angry disaster. I may do hidden snaps or something instead. For now- the fabric and pattern details:
Fabrics- Ombre Sweater knit from JoAnns Fabric, Tapestry knit from Mill End remnants
The pattern is very easy and I highly recommend it. I think this would be a great foundation for a robe also.
