I made the cropped version from a linen like blend in a gold color. It reminded me of Spring and Fall and they are so easy breezy its been super hard not to talk about them while the pattern was in production! Now it is available though and I highly recommend these beauties!
I think they reminded me of Japanese Patterns as well. I always want to wear the items in the pattern books I find, but I can’t get over feeling like a stick in a cinched sack. However, I didn’t feel like that with these overalls. I love the big pockets and the ability to wrap those ties any which way you want. Make it crazy, make it pristine, it is up to you!
I used the thread color as an accent to their “peasant” vibe. The pattern is well written, easy to follow and suitable for a beginner to garment sewing. Sew House 7 patterns are always good with explanations and descriptions of sewing techniques. Plus, they are a Portland based company and I love to support local and Indie.
I would say that is part of the appeal. They are fast to construct and provide simple satisfaction. While I made a very small size, these guys are great for all body types with those skinny ties.
So get a copy today and make yourself some glorious summer bibs!
