We had a beautiful summer friends. It had all the classic summer things: messy hair, pools, ice cream, sprinklers, camping, swimming and watermelon. While I’ve been away, I’ve been plotting and planning the next step for Casa Crafty.
First off- it is time to get the blog back up and running. I’ve been away for the longest since I started blogging so many years ago. It was a much needed break, and while the last few years have been hit or miss, I have goals- I have a direction to go.
Also- I think it is time to bring photography back into my life. I dabble. I have always dabbled in just about everything. I can do a little screen printing then sew that fabric into a clutch. Then I can teach you how. It is time to be proud of what I can do. I’ve always struggled with how to promote myself.
I’ve also struggled with keeping my opinions to myself while not being railroaded by “polite” conversation. Yes, I may bring up current events in a convo and then turn around and talk about the most recent most raunchy thing I have read or watched. I may tell a story from my sordid past to demonstrate that the past is just that- passed. Its gone, its over, it was fun and I learned SO MANY things. Then our conversation will be about sewing then dogs and the crazy things our kids do.
While all that is insight into me, this space is about the crafting life. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing all the crazy awesome things we made during the summer. From my own personal items to the kids creations at the studio.
After we catch up, I’m working on a sewing curriculum. I have a group of students that are in the online academy through our school district- home school. As an addition to that, their parents are bringing them to the studio once a week to fine tune their abilities with textiles and the machines. I want to share the finer points with you, we may do videos on kids sewing, we may do diagrams, we will most definitely be having an amazing time and we will share that with you.
