It is that season. The season of the family photo. This year, I knew I wanted Pajamas. I have always loved the Hanna Andersson catalog shots where the posed family sits in matching pajamas, blissfully staring at the camera. But, that’s not me, nor does posed ridiculousness suit my family. When Organic Cotton Plus contacted me about a collaboration, I knew that we all needed matching joggers in this house.
Sitting in front of the fire drinking hot cocoa? Nope, we went Christmas Tree wrangling in matching stripes. We trekked out to Loch Lolly Tree Farm in North Plains. You may remember that I usually use the Wall Tree. This year though, the youngest of us convinced the rest to get a tree… and so we did.
While I was trying to decide which fabric to choose, what project to make, I kept returning to comfort. The Hudson Pant is something I know well. I make them regularly for Murphy, he will wear nothing else. Hawley needs new ones without pockets for winter gym class. I need new pairs and so does the Hubs. So obviously I settled on that pattern for the project. I originally wanted to do these in a solid olive french terry with a turmeric contrast. I thought about tuxedo stripes, making them in a stretch lightweight denim, in the end- horizontal stripes. I love stripes. When you like something, its hard to let it go!
As always, Organic Cotton Plus provided an amazing jersey knit. I received the baby rib in sailor stripe and the contrast is a light jersey in olive. Beautiful with soft supple stretch and good recovery. Their shipping time is always fast, and free with purchases over $50. I go to them first when trying to find good quality knits especially french terry. You may remember my last post collaboration with Organic Cotton Plus:
Still easily one of my favorite tops.
Happy Sewing and from us to you, Happy Holidays!
